Fascinating! How much water does a stupa provide a community and is it transported with another pipeline?

Typically, each stupa has a volume of around 400 cubic meters, which roughly corresponds to more than 100,000 gallons of water. Most of the water is diverted directly to farms - these villages are so remote and weather harsh, that pipelines freeze often. The villages are quite austere. This documentary is eye-opening and will give you an idea of how people live there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEJpkEctSEA. Hope this helps :)
